Acura has unveiled a significant refresh for its 2024 TLX lineup, reinforcing its position in the competitive sport sedan segment. The 2024 Acura Tlx arrives with a suite of enhancements, including refreshed styling at both the front and rear, upgraded in-car technology, an expanded list of standard features, and a more serene cabin environment. The high-performance variant, the 2024 Acura TLX Type S, already celebrated for its dynamic handling and all-wheel-drive prowess, takes it a step further with improved throttle response and additional tech features.
Set to reach Acura dealerships nationwide in late November, the 2024 TLX streamlines its trim offerings. The Technology Package now comes standard, while the A-Spec trim adds sporty aesthetics, premium amenities, and standard torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®). The top-tier, high-performance Type S trim, which impressively accounts for approximately 25% of TLX sales, continues to offer peak Acura performance. The formerly optional Technology Package features, such as 19-inch wheels, Milano leather seating, ELS STUDIO Premium Audio, and Iconic Drive™ ambient LED cabin lighting, are now standard across the 2024 Acura TLX range, enhancing the value proposition.
Emile Korkor, assistant vice president of Acura National Sales, stated, “The new 2024 Acura TLX has reached new heights, demonstrating our commitment to advancing Precision Crafted Performance throughout the Acura lineup. It comes hard on the heels of the red-hot new Integra and Integra Type S, as Acura continues to deliver exciting premium performance products for people who love to drive.”
Adding to the ownership experience, purchasers of the 2024 Acura TLX sport sedan can benefit from the Acura Maintenance Package, a complimentary maintenance plan covering the first two years or 24,000 miles, providing added peace of mind and reduced ownership costs.

Inspired Styling from the Type S Concept
The 2024 Acura TLX continues to embody a sporty and assertive stance, characterized by its wide and low proportions, elongated dash-to-axle ratio, and a sculpted hood. The design language blends sharp angles with flowing surfaces and muscular contours, projecting a sense of dynamic performance.
A defining feature across the 2024 TLX range is the adoption of a frameless Diamond Pentagon grille, initially showcased on the Acura Type S Concept. This sophisticated grille design, flanked by Acura’s signature JewelEye® LED headlights and “Chicane” LED daytime running lights, gives the TLX a more refined and contemporary face. Complementing the grille update, every 2024 TLX model now features a diamond pattern mesh within the grille and larger 19-inch machined-finish wheels as standard, enhancing its visual appeal.
The TLX A-Spec trim distinguishes itself further with new split-spoke 19-inch Shark Gray wheels, prominent dual round exhaust finishers, and a new gloss-black rear spoiler. Coupled with standard torque-vectoring Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®), the TLX A-Spec is tailored for buyers seeking a blend of enhanced performance and a more aggressive sporty aesthetic.
The high-performance TLX Type S model receives its own unique styling enhancements, including a new open-surface Diamond Pentagon grille mesh designed to optimize airflow to its exclusive Type S Turbo V6 engine. New Berlina Black 20-inch split-spoke wheels, paired with Pirelli Cinturato P7 all-season tires, are also introduced. For drivers prioritizing ultimate handling and performance, the TLX Type S offers optional high-performance summer tires and lightweight Copper-finish Y-spoke 20-inch wheels, previously seen on the limited TLX Type S PMC Edition.
The TLX Type S builds upon the standard TLX’s assertive design with even more aggressive and purposeful elements. Distinctive features include an exclusive front splitter, rear decklid spoiler, rear diffuser, quad exhaust outlets, and red Brembo® 4-piston front brake calipers, clearly signaling its high-performance nature.
Adding to the visual palette, two new exterior paint colors are available. Urban Gray Pearl, a fresh and modern hue, is offered on the TLX A-Spec and TLX Type S. Liquid Carbon Metallic, which debuted on the MDX SUV, is available for the TLX with Technology Package.
Advanced Technology Integration
Inside the 2024 Acura TLX, a host of technological upgrades enhance the cabin experience. All models now feature a significantly larger 12.3-inch center screen, a 20% increase in size, operated by a faster processor for improved responsiveness. Wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration, along with a wireless charging pad and Amazon Alexa Built-In, are now standard, providing seamless connectivity. Rear passengers also benefit from the addition of two USB-C charging ports located at the back of the center console.
A new configurable 12.3-inch Acura Precision Cockpit™ Digital Instrument Cluster offers drivers a customizable and informative display. Featuring clean, easy-to-read graphics, the cluster provides a range of display options, including two gauge layouts (Advanced or Crafted), gear-position display, and a multi-information display for AcuraWatch™ settings and vehicle data.
Exclusively for the 2024 TLX Type S, the digital instrument cluster includes a unique Sport+ driving mode meter design. This layout prioritizes essential performance information, positioning the engine rpm at the top, and also displays turbocharger boost (psi) and a graphical g-meter, providing real-time feedback on acceleration, braking, and cornering forces.
The TLX Type S further elevates the technological offerings with a standard high-resolution Surround View Camera and a configurable 10.5-inch color Head-Up Display (HUD). The HUD projects key information such as vehicle speed, navigation prompts, AcuraWatch™ status, and Traffic Sign Recognition directly onto the windshield within the driver’s line of sight.
Elevated Driving Dynamics and Cabin Refinement
To enhance the premium driving experience, the 2024 Acura TLX A-Spec incorporates significant noise reduction measures within the cabin. These enhancements include thicker carpet, new front fender liners, wheel insulators, and B-pillar and door insulators. Acoustic glass in the front doors further minimizes wind noise. The Active Sound Control (ASC) system has also been refined to more effectively cancel out unwanted exterior sounds, creating a more serene interior environment.
At the heart of the TLX Type S remains the potent Type S Turbo V6 engine, a 3.0-liter, 24-valve, dual overhead cam unit with direct-injection and a single twin-scroll turbocharger. It delivers 355 horsepower (SAE Net @ 5,500 rpm) and 354 lb.-ft. of torque (SAE Net @ 1,400 – 5,000 rpm). Acura engineers have fine-tuned the Sport+ mode in the 2024 TLX Type S to provide even quicker throttle response, enhancing the sense of acceleration and driver engagement.
The TLX Type S, Acura’s most dynamically capable all-wheel drive sedan, features a sport-tuned 10-speed automatic transmission, double-wishbone front suspension, Brembo® front brakes, and the exclusive Sport+ driving mode. Acura’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ (SH-AWD®) system, with true torque vectoring, is standard, capable of directing up to 70% of torque to the rear axle and 100% of that to the outside rear wheel, optimizing handling and cornering performance.
Enhanced Safety and Driver Assistance
The Acura TLX is engineered to deliver top-tier safety performance, featuring Acura’s ACE™ body structure, next-generation front passenger airbag technology, and the comprehensive AcuraWatch™ suite of advanced safety and driver-assistive technologies, all as standard equipment.
For the 2024 model year, the AcuraWatch™ suite receives further enhancements. A new front single-lens sensor camera with a wider 90-degree field of view (increased from 50-degrees) and a new grille-mounted millimeter-wave radar with a wider 120-degree field of view (increased from 50-degrees) significantly improve object detection. These wider detection angles enhance the system’s ability to recognize vehicles, bicycles, pedestrians, lane markings, and road boundaries, improving overall collision prevention capabilities.
The blind spot information (BSI) system’s radar warning range has been extended to 82 feet, enabling Lane Change Alert. This feature alerts the driver to vehicles approaching from behind in adjacent lanes, further enhancing safety during lane changes.
A new rear seatbelt reminder system is also standard on the 2024 TLX, providing visual and audible alerts to remind the driver if rear seat occupants have not buckled or have unbuckled their seatbelts.
The AcuraWatch™ suite on the TLX includes Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) with Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow, Forward Collision Warning, Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS), and Traffic Sign Recognition System.

The 2024 TLX and TLX Type S are proudly manufactured in Marysville, Ohio, sharing the production line with the Acura Integra and Integra Type S*. TLX engines are produced exclusively at the Anna Engine Plant in Ohio, which also manufactures the Type S Turbo V6 for the MDX Type S.
