Acura ZDX to Access Tesla Supercharger Network with New Adapter

Acura Zdx owners are set to gain enhanced charging convenience with access to Tesla’s extensive Supercharger network across the United States. Starting in June 2025, a newly available Acura-approved NACS-CCS adapter will enable ZDX drivers to utilize over 20,000 select Tesla Superchargers. This move significantly expands charging options for Acura’s all-electric SUV, ensuring a more reliable and accessible charging experience.

The adapter, rigorously tested and approved by Acura, guarantees both safety and compatibility with the ZDX at any NACS DC fast-charging point. It stands as the only DC fast charging adapter officially endorsed by Acura, providing ZDX owners with peace of mind and reliable performance when charging at Tesla Supercharger locations.

Ryan Harty, Assistant Vice President of Sustainability & Business Development at American Honda Motor Co., Inc., highlighted the strategic importance of this expansion: “Adding Tesla Supercharger network access to the charging networks already available to our EV customers means industry-leading fast-charging access for Honda and Acura EV drivers. By the end of this decade, we strive to provide Honda and Acura EV drivers with the most convenient and easy charging at more than 100,000 charge points nationwide, helping people choose to purchase an EV for the many benefits of driving one.”

Customers interested in acquiring the Acura-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter can purchase it through authorized Acura dealerships in the United States starting in June. Pricing details will be announced closer to the launch date. Acura ZDX owners will receive notifications via the Acura EV apps when the adapters become available for purchase. These apps will also be updated to help drivers locate authorized Supercharger stations.

To maintain a safe and dependable charging process, Tesla mandates the use of approved adapters at their Supercharger stations, a recommendation strongly echoed by Acura. Using non-approved adapters may lead to damage not covered under the vehicle’s limited warranty, emphasizing the importance of utilizing the official Acura-approved adapter.

Expanding the EV Charging Ecosystem for Honda and Acura

Looking ahead to 2030, Honda and Acura are committed to providing EV owners with access to approximately 100,000 DC fast-charge points across North America. This ambitious goal encompasses the Tesla Supercharger network, the upcoming IONNA DC fast-charging network, and existing networks like EVgo and Electrify America. This comprehensive approach aims to create a seamless and expansive charging infrastructure for EV drivers.

For Acura ZDX owners seeking convenient home charging solutions, Acura Home Electrification (AHE) offers an online marketplace. AHE simplifies the process of setting up home charging options tailored to individual lifestyles. Customers can also explore and install additional home electrification products, including rooftop solar panels, home batteries, smart energy management systems, and heat pump water heaters, to optimize energy efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint of their electric vehicles.

With the integration of the Tesla Supercharger network and ongoing investments in charging infrastructure, Acura is solidifying its commitment to making EV ownership a convenient and accessible experience for Acura ZDX drivers and future EV adopters.
