1000 HP Hennessey EXORCIST Camaro ZL1 Final Edition

Hennessey Performance, the renowned hypercar manufacturer and high-performance vehicle creator from Texas, has announced the limited, end-of-production ‘Final Edition’ series for its celebrated EXORCIST Camaro ZL1 upgrades. For over 32 years, Hennessey’s expert technicians have been dedicated to ‘making fast cars faster,’ and the EXORCIST is a prime example of this ethos.

In its factory configuration, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 boasts a formidable 6.2-liter supercharged LT4 V8 engine, delivering 650 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. However, Hennessey elevates this performance to an entirely new level. The upgrade process involves fitting the Camaro’s V8 with a larger, high-flow supercharger and a high-flow air induction system. The auxiliary fuel system is enhanced with upgraded fuel injectors and a fuel pump to meet the demands of increased power.

Turning to the heart of the powerplant, the cylinder heads are meticulously ported, and custom HPE camshafts are installed. Further engine enhancements include upgraded intake valves, exhaust valves, valve springs, retainers, lifters, and pushrods. To ensure optimal thermal management, an oversized heat exchanger is incorporated for enhanced cooling. Engine breathing is improved with the addition of long-tube stainless steel headers and high-flow catalytic converters.

Years of research and development have culminated in the EXORCIST ‘Final Edition,’ which is calibrated with a precisely tuned HPE Engine Management software upgrade. This sophisticated enhancement, in conjunction with the comprehensive engine overhaul, allows the LT4 engine to achieve a staggering output of 1,000 horsepower and 966 lb-ft of torque. This represents a remarkable 54 percent increase in power and a 49 percent increase in torque over the stock ZL1. The resulting performance is truly breathtaking. The EXORCIST ‘Final Edition’ accelerates from 0-60 mph in just 2.1 seconds, conquers the quarter mile in a mere 9.57 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 217 mph.

The original EXORCIST, launched in 2017 on the sixth-generation Camaro Alpha platform, was conceived by Hennessey to ‘slay the Dodge Demon.’ At the time, the Dodge Demon, a rival supercharged Challenger, produced 840 hp, which was significantly less than the original EXORCIST’s 1,000 hp. While Dodge has since unveiled the Challenger SRT Demon 170, boasting 1,025 hp on E85 fuel, the Hennessey EXORCIST Camaro ZL1 ‘Final Edition’ remains a formidable contender. Tuned for both racing circuits and everyday driving, it stands its ground as a pinnacle of American performance engineering.

John Hennessey, the company founder and CEO, stated, “Our comprehensive upgrade to the Camaro ZL1 is one of my all-time favorites. The chassis, suspension, and powerplant work seamlessly together, so all the driver experiences is raw, unbridled horsepower. There’s nothing else like our EXORCIST, so we’re eager to share this special limited edition with fans of this iconic car before it’s gone forever.”

To commemorate this final edition, each upgraded engine features a unique ‘Final Edition X of 57’ serial-numbered engine bay plaque, celebrating 57 years since the Camaro’s original production year. This special engine badging is further complemented by distinctive EXORCIST ‘Final Edition’ exterior graphics.

The Hennessey EXORCIST ‘Final Edition’ upgrade is supported by Hennessey’s comprehensive 3-year / 36,000-mile limited warranty. Production is currently underway.
