Programming
π’ Dealer RequiredProgramming typically requires professional diagnostic equipment to register the immobilizer/smart key to the vehicle. Many 2024 Honda models also require a security PIN/seed-key (or equivalent authorization) that some independent locksmiths can obtain via legitimate channels, while others may not. The emergency key blade must be cut to match the vehicle; some sellers ship an uncut blade. If all keys are lost, the process is usually more involved and may require additional steps and higher cost.
β οΈ Common Issues
- Wrong fob version (frequency/FCC ID/part number mismatch) causing programming failure or limited functions
- Aftermarket fobs with inconsistent range or button reliability
- Dead/weak CR2032 battery leading to intermittent detection or 'Key Not Detected' messages
- Used fobs that are previously locked/registered and cannot be reprogrammed
